Today, I heard about a new site Wootish, which allows users to discover apps for iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad and Mac in a way resembling the well-known principle behind StumbleUpon.
I have been told, that the site is built to overcome one major issue with the present app discovery tools – they are heavily reliant on either the popularity of apps or upon your past download history. Consequently, users may miss out on some absolute gem of apps that do not get enough traction (and hence less downloads which results in them being ignored by the other tools).
As mentioned earlier Wootish is something like a StumbleUpon fort he AppStore. Users just need to specify the categories they are interested in, and the service will display random new apps that satisfy the criteria. You can also pick between Free/Paid apps. The owners of Wootish are hopeful that not only will this service be a way for users to find lesser known apps on the AppStore, but will also provide a way for small time app developers to get noticed by users.
I hope the developers of Wootish will add a language filter option ASAP. Some of my initial searches came up with apps in Russian, which is not a language I master in any way.
Following the popular Cadbury Dancing Clothes add, Cadbury Dairy Milk have launched their first iPhone app – DanceOff. The DanceOff app is free, and allows you to choose between different clothing characters and make them dance along to any track in your phone’s iTunes library.
You can also use the phone mic to make the characters dance to external music or their own voice, in five dancing styles (including hip hop, salsa and samba).
Judging from the Youtube video of the Dancing Clothes add, this new app from Cadbury’s Dairy Milk should be a lot of fun!
DanceOff is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. The app Requires iOS 3.2 or later and will take up around 24MB of space. You can download the DanceOff app through the iTunes site.
Below are some screen shots from the DanceOff app.

Are you looking for the coolest apps for iPhone? Collecting apps for your iPhone unit can be kind of a hassle because there are over 350,000 apps available, composed of free and paid-for apps. But at the same time collecting them can be very addicting, especially if your iPhone unit has enough capacity to carry hundreds of apps. Below is a list of the coolest apps for iPhone that you should keep in your unit:
- Bento – make the simplest databases to keep information about every phase of your life
- Textfree Unlimited – this is one of the best alternatives for the high costs of SMS plan which provides consumers text messaging for free using the Push Notification.
- TweetDeck – this is a Twitter client, the very same Twitter that everyone is raving about in its desktop counterpart which offers users the same layout. Similar apps are TwitterFON, Twinkle and Tweetie.
- Slacker Radio – this is a great alternative to Pandora wherein it carries a larger catalog and provides Premium accounts that propose something that majority of Pandora users loath all the time – the eternal song skips.
- Hey Where Are You – literally an app that makes use of Push Notification where it lets users ask the question, “Hey, Where Are You?” and give answers back to it.
- Flight Tracker – maybe not everyone has taken to flying as the mode of transportation from one place to another but this app is one way to track flights in real-time and also prepare in time for the arrival and departure times.
